In layman term, a domain name is the name of a website. E.g. itwin.com.my. People remember and locate your website on the Internet via a domain name associated with you. From the business point of view, a domain name may contain more information than just a name.
Take itwin.com.my as an example. The leftmost itwin is the company name (or business name), the com means a business entity, and the rightmost my is the country code of Malaysia in the cyberspace.
