Sales Engineer (Managed Services) 

About the Role

The Sales Engineer (Managed Services) is responsible for driving and developing the Managed Services sales business, including new customer acquisition, renewals, and recurring managed services revenue opportunities.
The role takes ownership of managed services opportunities by understanding customer needs, positioning the right service value, coordinating with internal technical teams, and driving opportunities from prospecting to closure. 
 

Job Requirements: 

  • Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT solution sales, managed services sales, business development, account management, or technology service sales. 
  • Strong sales ownership with the ability to generate leads, approach new customers, qualify opportunities, follow up consistently, negotiate, and close sales. 
  • Good business acumen with the ability to identify customer pain points, understand commercial drivers, position service value, and build recurring revenue opportunities. 
  • Good working knowledge of managed IT services, including helpdesk support, preventive maintenance, endpoint support, server and network support, cloud services, backup, SLA, escalation models, and service reporting. 
  • Able to understand customer technical environments at a high level and translate service requirements into clear business discussions, without being responsible for technical delivery. 
  • Confident in engaging key stakeholders, IT managers, finance teams, and management-level decision makers. 
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, relationship-building, and customer management skills. 
  • Self-driven, target-oriented, commercially alert, and comfortable taking ownership of a managed services sales target. 
  • Experience preparing quotations, proposals, service scope, renewal plans, or upsell recommendations will be an added advantage. 
  • Possess own transport and willing to travel for customer meetings, site discussions, and business development activities. 
 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute sales activities to grow the Managed Services business, including new customer acquisition, account penetration, renewal opportunities, and recurring revenue growth. 
  • Identify target customers and create new opportunities through prospecting, cold outreach, referrals, networking, customer visits, marketing activities, and partner engagement. 
  • Build relationships with key decision makers and position the company as a trusted Managed Services provider. 
  • Conduct customer discovery sessions to understand business priorities, IT support challenges, current service gaps, budget direction, and decision-making process. 
  • Position Managed Services offerings based on business outcomes such as improved service reliability, support coverage, cost predictability, risk reduction, security readiness, and operational continuity. 
  • Own and manage the sales cycle from lead generation, opportunity qualification, requirement discussion, proposal coordination, pricing discussion, negotiation, and closure. 
  • Coordinate with pre-sales, technical, and service delivery teams to validate requirements, confirm service feasibility, prepare scope, and ensure proper internal handover after sales closure. 
  • Prepare and present quotations, proposals, commercial summaries, service scope, SLA overview, renewal plans, and upsell or cross-sell recommendations. 
  • Drive renewals and account growth by maintaining regular engagement with customers and identifying opportunities to expand service coverage. 
  • Maintain accurate customer activity records, proposal status, and management reporting. 
  • Provide feedback on customer needs, market demand, competitor positioning, pricing expectations, and potential improvements to Managed Services offerings.

Working Hours: 

  • Monday to Friday, 8:45 am – 5:45 pm
